Smog is fog or haze combined with smoke and other pollutants in the air. Smog composes her hair, Symbolic of being on cloud 9 when one is in love and while those feelings take you to new heights, it can also pollute your thoughts and blind you of the every day hustle and reality that love is an intangible emotion. Dense and prominent yet capable of clearing out effortlessly when it’s done.

Noraa represents the personification of the essence of someone I met years ago during a period in time where I had no real clue of my identity as an artist. I had only been learning to paint from reference pictures. This person helped me reconnect to people and feelings in a way that inspired me to begin to imagine original concepts onto a canvas. I know nothing of this person anymore; they came in and out of my life in a blink of an eye, but revolutionized the way I painted.

No one knows who Noraa really is or where she’s at. She is mysterious yet powerful and bold in that dress; she’s an impactful statement. Her dress is made of 6 months of recycled acrylic paint from my palette. #texturelove

To me community is a scarcity. It comes and goes depending on the season of life. So when life drains you and leaves your cup half empty, community is whomever fills your cup back up.
